UPDATE – Events Calendar 2021-2022 of the European Scout Region (June 2021)

The European Scout Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is pleased to share with you an update of the list of upcoming events for the years 2021-2022.

In view of the ongoing public health situation and as agreed by the European Scout Committee and the World Scout Bureau Europe Support Centre, events have been held in a digital format. We hope you enjoyed our Regional Opportunities Online series delivered over the last three months.

We had the pleasure of receiving almost 300 registrations, from 33 countries, for the 12 Campfires organised, with an average of 17 participants actually attending the events. All the Campfires were evaluated very positively by the participants, with an average of 4.23 out of 5 for relevance and facilitation.

As time goes by, we see that some in-person activities have resumed across the Region, and we are encouraged by this evolution. The Region has also started considering restarting its own working group level in-person meetings following an approach prioritising health and safety first.

Regional Events
As you can see in our updated Events Calendar 2021-2022, a few events have changed in their format and others in their dates. We are currently looking at two regional events potentially happening in person later in 2021. The European Scout Committee and the World Scout Bureau Europe Support Centre will be assessing their viability in September 2021. A confirmation will be circulated as a follow-up. The same applies to events planned for 2022 where a new viability assessment will be taking place in late 2021.

Meanwhile, we invite you to book the dates of the events you are interested in in your calendar and expect to receive further information, including practicalities if applicable, after the summer.

Regional Reach-Out
In parallel to this, the World Scout Bureau Europe Support Centre would like to launch a second round of reach out, similar to the one completed in autumn 2020. This will contribute to a continued assessment of the impact of the pandemic on your organisation, to a mapping of your needs and expectations as well as of your response to the idea of once again gathering in the constellation of a regional event. Our proposal is to complete this reach out over the month of September in order to be able to incorporate your NSO/A experience during the coming summer months. Please complete this dedicated form to confirm your interest and availability. Reminders will be sent out separately in the next months to ensure an increased reach.

The report from the previous reach-out exercise is available here.
