We have all witnessed your NSOs’ enduring ability to adapt and respond to the changing needs of our communities at every level, amid these challenging times.
The level of resilience and creativity that we have all recently seen, is contagious and it truly embodies our movement values.
The whole European Scout Region, its European Scout Committee, Regional Volunteers and WSB staff members, have been closely following your uplifting news, initiatives and great actions. We are pleased to announce the launch of a series of regional online gatherings that are meant to offer a space for various target audiences to:
- Come together and connect during this challenging time of social distancing
- Exchange on best practices, inspire and be inspired
- Receive updates on the implementation milestones of the Regional Scout Plan
- Take stock of the current situation, share challenges and reflect together on lessons learnt
- Look ahead to the future of Scouting amid the imminent exit of containment measures

Chief Executives Officers’ Virtual Meeting
Date and Time
- 30 April 2020 – starting at 15:00 CEST
Target Audience
- Chief Executive Officers in National Scout or Guide Associations
Purpose
- Assess the impact of the pandemic on our operations
- Exchange on good practices or innovative systems that have been put in place to mitigate risks and minimize financial, logistical and organizational shortcomings.

Regional Volunteers’ Get-Together
Date and Time
- 1 May 2020 – starting at 19:00 CEST
Target Audience
- Regional Volunteers of the current Triennium 2019-2022
Purpose
- Connect all regional volunteers during this challenging time of social distancing
- Refuel one another’s motivation
- Gather a general status update about the progress of each working group in terms of action planning and the implementation of the RSP
Let’s Talk Diversity, Inlcusion, Impact and Sustainability
Date and Time
- 2 May 2020, starting at 19:00 CEST
Target Audience
- Youth Programme and Adults in Scouting Commissioners and members of their teams
Purpose
- Exchange on and learn about best practices related to diversity and inclusion, specifically in relation to the current pandemic situation (mental health- inclusion of vulnerable Scouts..etc)
- Discuss Scouting impact measurement mechanisms- with a special focus on tracking community action impact in the current pandemic situation.
- Exchange on the topic of sustainability and where the topic stands today across NSOs, including the embedding of the Global Goals into youth programs.
The Image of Scouting and the Pandemic: A Blessing in Disguise?
Date and Time

Target Audience
- Communications Officers, members in charge of Image of Scouting, members in charge of partnerships building
Purpose
- Explore successful examples of visibility opportunities brought to Scouting through the current response to the pandemic.
- Exchange on the different ways NSOs have promoted their work in relation to community service and Home Scouting.
- Exchange on ways NSOs have successfully partnered with other civil society organizations to ensure a coordinated community response.
- Explore ways to maintain positive ties with the media moving forward
A Post Covid-19 Scouting Era? What Shape and Form?

- 9 May 2020, starting at 19:00 CEST
Target Audience
- Youth programme and Adults in Scouting Commissioners and members of their teams
Purpose
- Explore the imminent challenges emerging with a gradual exit of the current confinement situation and its impact on Scouting outdoor/physical activities
- Discuss ways of reinventing Scouting programs in light of the lessons learnt by the current pandemic situation
- Exchange on the best tools/mechanisms/working methods on which the movement should capitalize to maintain its relevance and upscale its impact in a post Covid-19 era.
Campfire with the European Scout Committee
Date and Time
- 13 May 2020 19:00 CEST
Target Audience
- NSOs leadership representatives
Purpose
- Provide an update on the current implementation status of the Regional Scout Plan
- Share highlights from the special gathering of the regional volunteers.
- Offer a space to NSOs to interact with the members of the European Committee, ask questions and engage in a dialogue about current and upcoming priorities.
A tool will be shared in the coming weeks to receive your questions in advance..
