SUMMARY:Overture Diversity Network Online Meeting 2020
DESCRIPTION:Just when you need it most\, there are competing priorities that mean inclusion and diversity are getting lost in our organisations’ need to survive. \nOverture is a European network dedicated to diversity in Scouting and Guiding\, an informal network of those who are working on diversity issues in their respective associations. It is a forum for sharing good practice across the region and encourages the creation and promotion of toolkits\, resources and ideas to support local and national Associations. \nThe Steering Group of the European Regional Overture Diversity Network has the pleasure of announcing the next meeting of the Overture Diversity Network will be hold online on the 5th of December 2020. \nProgramme – the event will take place from 10am to 7.30pm CET and will include presentations from both WAGGGS and WOSM on current priorities and specific work streams\, as well as slots on mental health and wellbeing and “coping with COVID-19”. Next steps and further meetings in 2021 will also be on the agenda. \nRegistration – As with many events move online\, we are able to engage with a wider audience of Diversity actors across our Member Organisations. Are you part of your national diversity and inclusion team? Have you tried to improve knowledge and practise in certain inclusion topics? Do you have best practise to share? DESCRIPTION:After the success of the first three editions of the European Youth Event in 2014\, 2016 and 2018\, the European Parliament will once again open its doors to 8000 young people from all over Europe on 29-30 May 2020. The event aims to engage young people in political debate and society\, giving highlight to important key issues such as peace\, democracy\, unemployment\, work and environment.\n \nNext to the premises of the European Parliament there will be the YO!Fest\, a youth-led festival organised by the European Youth Forum which takes place every year in front of symbolic places of the EU institutions. The YO!Fest combines high-level policy debates\, thematic workshops\, educational activities\, cultural animations and live music into a unique experience.\n \nThe EYE 2020 will include a large variety of activities run under the motto “The future is now!” in a political\, social and cultural sense. DESCRIPTION:The Steering Group of the European Regional Overture Diversity Network has the pleasure of announcing the next meeting of the Overture Diversity Network which is scheduled to take place at Strandheim leirsted in Nærsnes\, Norway\, from 15 to 17 November 2019. The meeting is hosted by Norges Speiderforbund (NSF). \nProgramme – more practical information\, including details about the programme\, will be circulated later during the summer. In the meantime you can follow the planning process on the Network’s Facebook page. \nRegistration – an on-line registration form will be available later during the summer. Please note\, that Travel arrangements should only be made once your participation is been confirmed by the host team. \nParticipation fee – The participation fee of the event is NOK 1250 (about EUR 130). The overall idea of the network is to share and create information about on-going practices and resources in funding\, as well as to provide a platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge. \nThe objectives for the Fundraisers’ Network Meeting  are: \n\nSharing best practices in fundraising (crowdfunding\,…)\nDiscussing about fundraising strategies and how to use them\nSharing knowledge on collaboration with the private sector (CSR)\nDiscovering new European funding opportunities coming with the recently discussed new Multi-annual Financial Framework (new Erasmus+ programme\, European Solidarity Corps\, Rights and Values fund and other programmes)\n\nBesides the traditional programme\, this meeting will include a study session on the model of the Czech Scout Institute (www.skautskyinstitut.cz)\, which was established thanks to successful crowdfunding and is spreading across Czechia and beyond. SUMMARY:European Seminar on Growth in Scouting
DESCRIPTION:Growth is a very important and relevant topic for World and European Scouting. It is part of our Regional Scout Plan where we commit ourselves that “by 2019\, there will be a significant increase in the number of members and in the quality of Scouting undertaken in the European Scout Region” and it is part of our contribution to the global vision where we “will actively contribute to the development of World campaigns and initiatives to propose growth of 5% year on year in each and every Member Organisation in Europe”. \nMany Scout associations across Europe are putting tremendous effort into the area of growth: many have achieved remarkable results\, many are just starting and many are desperately looking for solutions and best practices. \nAll European Member Organisations completed the Growth Commitment survey prior to the World Scout Conference in 2017 and this has resulted in renewed interest and commitment to the growth of Scouting in the Region.  \nObjectives \n\nTo provide an understanding of the different approaches to Membership Growth in the context of Scouting\nTo equip leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to develop and manage Growth strategies and respective action plans;\nTo strengthen the capacities of leaders and increase their potential to become active ambassadors for growth of their organisations\, and;\nTo utilise relevant platforms for future support and cooperation\, using WOSM Services with specific tailored support and develop the framework for a “Member Organisations Growth Network”.\n\nProgramme\nThe programme of the event will be spread over four days providing space and the environment for discussions on an understanding of Growth in a Scouting context\, introducing the Organisational Development Approach of the European Scout Region\, developing a common European understanding of Growth based on Vision 2023\, developing Growth Strategies\, developing action plans\, as well as implementing actions\, tools and platforms to support Member Organisation Growth. \nIf participants would like to propose a session on the topic of growth that they would like to deliver during the event\, please fill in the Session template on the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/Cv29re46gMuWsdLv2 \nParticipants’ Profile \n\nMembers or prospective members of national or regional teams which support growth in their association.\n\nParticipants are expected to be able to communicate well in English and should be familiar with the use of electronic communication tools (e.g. email\, skype\, Facebook). \nNumber of Participants \n\nThe event is designed for about 60 – 80 participants.\nRegistration priority is given to have the largest number of different Member Organisations represented.\n\nLanguages\nThe event will be held in English. \nRegistration \n\nAll interested participants can register online by completing the application form.\nOnce someone has completed the form\, the approval of the application will be requested by the International Commissioner (IC) of the respective Member Organisation. A confirmation of the registration will be dispatched upon receipt of approval by the IC. No travel bookings should be made before receiving this confirmation.\n\nThe deadline for submitting applications is 20 April 2019! \nParticipation Fee \n\nAs this is an event supported by the Erasmus+ programme\, the participation fee for participants from partner Member Organisations is 120 EUR. For participants from all other Member Organisations that are not partners in this project\, the participation fee is 380 EUR.\nThe fee covers accommodation in twin rooms\, meals and coffee breaks from dinner on 22 May to lunch on 26 May 2019. DESCRIPTION:The 7th European Network meeting for National Rover Commissioners\nThe 4th European Network meeting for National Ventures Commissioners \nThis event is a great opportunity for all National Commissioners on Venture Scouts and Rover age sections (or members\nof their respective national teams) to meet and exchange knowledge\, experiences\, add contacts and build\nbridges for future international collaborations. \nThe purpose of this event is to connect European Scout organisations to inspire\, motivate and share\nexperiences to improve Rovering and Venturing. \nThe objectives are: \n\nto foster international peer-to-peer communication and networking amongst national\ncommissioners for the Venture Scout and Rover age sections;\nto provide a learning opportunity on current educational tools and trends from inside and outside\nthe movement;\nto provide inspiration for creative programme design.\n\nThe programme for the event will focus on issues in relation to four main areas: \n\nYouth empowerment\nCommunity involvement\nResponsible volunteering\nSkills recognition\nQuality and relevance of the programme\nNon-formal education\nIdentifying challenges in definition and delivery of programme\nAction plans\nLeadership and team management\nWellbeing\nSelf-development\nWOSM Leadership Model\nDiversity and Inclusion\nGender equality\nMobility of youth\nActively welcoming communities\n\nThere are also opportunities for participants to propose topics and themes and ample time for networking\n(of course\, including a fantastic International Evening and Market)\, forging partnerships and sharing best\npractices. \nFurther Information and Contact \nFor more details\, including a link to the registration form\, please refer to Regional Circular 15 2019 (available in English only). DESCRIPTION:Calling all Rovers! Join us in Slovakia for Agora 2019 – an event run for Rovers by Rovers. \n  \nThe 2019 edition of Agora\, the European Scout Region’s peer-organised event for representatives of the senior age section of Member Organisations will take place at the Banská Štiavnica Scout Centre in Slovakia from 10 to 14 April 2019. Members of the senior age section will discuss age section related best practices and challenges encountered in their associations.\n \nThis is an event that is run “for Rovers\, by Rovers” that uses the Scout Method to reach the educational objectives for the Rover age section. This event looks at issues that are important and relevant to younger generations in today’s society.\n \nThroughout Agora 2019 the participants will: \n\nHave a safe space to share\, discuss\, and promote self-confidence;\nExperience a good balance between diverse training methodologies as well as indoor and outdoor activities;\nBe equipped with tools for effective communication with a diverse audience;\nReflect on possible innovations to keep the Rover Programme relevant in the future;\nGet to know the Sustainable Development Goals and how to adapt them in a practical way;\nBe given the chance to take part in a community service project.\n\nParticipants’ Profile\nAny Rover from any recognised NSA/NSO of the European Region is welcomed to be a participant at Agora. The participants should be aware of the Rover Programme of their own NSA/NSO and how it is implemented. The participant should also be eager to learn\, share experiences and be open to new ways of Scouting methods. \nThe ability to speak and write in English is also really important. \nLanguages\nThe working language of the Agora is English to facilitate all exchanges among participants. \nPlanning Team\nThe Planning Team of the Agora 2019 is composed of: \n\nLuis García (Portugal)\nCaoimhe FitzGibbon (Ireland)\nTiago Alves (Luxembourg)\nEgle Sipaviciute (Iceland)\n\nDate and Venue\nThe WOSM Europe Agora 2019 will start on Wednesday 10 April 2019 and end on Sunday 14 April 2019.
