DESCRIPTION:This year\, the 54th Overture Diversity Network Meeting of the European Region of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the Europe Region of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) will be hosted by Federazione Italiana dello Scautismo.\n\nThe event will be held in Rome\, Italy\, from 12 to 14 June 2026.\n\n\nAim and objectives\n\nOverture Diversity Network meetings aim to strengthen understanding of diversity and inclusion within the European Scout Region and the Europe Region of WAGGGS\, focusing on key themes to support the delivery of an exciting\, educational programme for participants to learn and enjoy. This is achieved through sharing knowledge and experiences and through plenary sessions that cover essential diversity and inclusion principles across a range of topics detailed in the programme section below.\n\nThe Overture Diversity Network Meeting 2026 programme will be delivered as a combination of plenary sessions and workshops\, with some of the topics being:\n\nUnderstanding dyslexia and inclusive learning practices\nDesigning more inclusive and accessible events\nSupporting refugees and groups in situations of vulnerability\nNeurodiversity in Scouting and Guiding\nReaching children and young people from lower-income areas\nMental health and wellbeing in Scouting and Guiding\n\n\nThe plenary sessions will feature the expertise of staff and volunteers engaged in diversity and inclusion (from WAGGGS\, WOSM\, and other organisations)\, while the hosted workshop sessions will empower participants to craft their own learning experiences.  \n\nWe will host an international evening on Saturday. Participants can bring a sample of items from their country and organisation. DESCRIPTION:What is The Academy?\nThe Academy is a unique Scout and Guide event designed to provide participants with high-quality training and networking opportunities around the core priorities of the WAGGGS and WOSM European Regions.\n\nSymbolic Framework\n\nWhat does a world you can be proud of look like?\nConflict and challenges around the world continue to escalate and the news is dominated by tension. Guiding and Scouting provide a strong foundation for our members to create good values and develop as individuals. How can we use these foundations to create a world they can be proud of? This is the focus of the Academy 2024.\n\nEach day of the Academy will focus on a type of world we want to create:\n\nA connected world –  what are the foundations of Guiding and Scouting and how do we foster these and maintain a quality programme as we continue to grow as organisations?\nA peaceful world – how do we create a world in which we prioritise safety\, both physical and psychological\, so we can meet the world’s challenges?\nA sustainable world – how can we ensure our organisations remain resilient and operate in an environmentally focused way towards a sustainable future as we adapt to a new digital age?\nA purposeful world – how do we connect members at all levels of our organisations to their purpose and empower them to shape their future?\nThe world I want to change – what are participants taking home from the Academy and how will they continue to implement their learnings?\n\nWe would like to encourage participants to choose from a variety of sessions per day\, composing their own training plan to match their position and particular needs. A broad range of sessions dealing with different areas of work will be offered simultaneously\, with enough on offer to make the event interesting for everyone.\n\nA detailed description of each session\, providing goals\, objectives and expected outcomes\, will be published on the website at the beginning of October 2024.\n\nAdditionally\, participants can offer informal sharing sessions to tell others of major innovations and successes from their organisations that would benefit others. All participants are requested to be able to effectively communicate in this language.\n\nRegistration and Participation fee\n\nRegistration is open until 10 October 2024\, and you can register online on The Academy website. Make sure you have already shared with your International Commissioner that you have applied to be an Academy participant. \n\n\nRegister Now!\n\n\nThe venue has a limited space so we can accept a maximum of 200 participants – in case of overbooking priority will be given to ensure the broadest diversity. A confirmation will be sent to all participants after the deadline.\n\nThe fee for the Academy is: \n\nEUR 450 for triple room accommodation \nEUR 500 for double room accommodation \nEUR 600 for single-room accommodation \n\nIt includes accommodation\, meals and tea/coffee breaks\, free access to the venue’s facilities\, and session materials for the full event.\n\nVisa and Travel Arrangements\n\nOnce participants have been selected and approved\, they will receive acceptance letters. DESCRIPTION:Roverway 2024 will take place in Norway. The jamboree is divided into two parts. From 22nd July 2024\, the participants will gather in smaller groups and get the opportunity to explore a self-chosen path. The paths will run throughout Southern Norway and end in a joint jamboree at Lundsneset\, Stavanger. A closing ceremony on 1st August 2024 will mark the end of the 11 days of Norwegian adventure\, and on August 2nd everyone will travel home with memories that will last them a lifetime!

It is a forum for sharing good practice across the region and encourages the creation and promotion of toolkits\, resources and ideas to support local and national Associations. \nThe Steering Group of the European Regional Overture Diversity Network has the pleasure of announcing the next meeting of the Overture Diversity Network will be hold online on the 5th of December 2020. \nProgramme – the event will take place from 10am to 7.30pm CET and will include presentations from both WAGGGS and WOSM on current priorities and specific work streams\, as well as slots on mental health and wellbeing and “coping with COVID-19”. Next steps and further meetings in 2021 will also be on the agenda. \nRegistration – As with many events move online\, we are able to engage with a wider audience of Diversity actors across our Member Organisations. DESCRIPTION:After the success of the first three editions of the European Youth Event in 2014\, 2016 and 2018\, the European Parliament will once again open its doors to 8000 young people from all over Europe on 29-30 May 2020. The event aims to engage young people in political debate and society\, giving highlight to important key issues such as peace\, democracy\, unemployment\, work and environment.\n \nNext to the premises of the European Parliament there will be the YO!Fest\, a youth-led festival organised by the European Youth Forum which takes place every year in front of symbolic places of the EU institutions. The YO!Fest combines high-level policy debates\, thematic workshops\, educational activities\, cultural animations and live music into a unique experience.\n \nThe EYE 2020 will include a large variety of activities run under the motto “The future is now!” in a political\, social and cultural sense. The overall idea of the network is to share and create information about on-going practices and resources in funding\, as well as to provide a platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge. \nThe objectives for the Fundraisers’ Network Meeting  are: \n\nSharing best practices in fundraising (crowdfunding\,…)\nDiscussing about fundraising strategies and how to use them\nSharing knowledge on collaboration with the private sector (CSR)\nDiscovering new European funding opportunities coming with the recently discussed new Multi-annual Financial Framework (new Erasmus+ programme\, European Solidarity Corps\, Rights and Values fund and other programmes)\n\nBesides the traditional programme\, this meeting will include a study session on the model of the Czech Scout Institute (www.skautskyinstitut.cz)\, which was established thanks to successful crowdfunding and is spreading across Czechia and beyond. SUMMARY:European Seminar on Growth in Scouting
DESCRIPTION:Growth is a very important and relevant topic for World and European Scouting. It is part of our Regional Scout Plan where we commit ourselves that “by 2019\, there will be a significant increase in the number of members and in the quality of Scouting undertaken in the European Scout Region” and it is part of our contribution to the global vision where we “will actively contribute to the development of World campaigns and initiatives to propose growth of 5% year on year in each and every Member Organisation in Europe”. \nMany Scout associations across Europe are putting tremendous effort into the area of growth: many have achieved remarkable results\, many are just starting and many are desperately looking for solutions and best practices. \nAll European Member Organisations completed the Growth Commitment survey prior to the World Scout Conference in 2017 and this has resulted in renewed interest and commitment to the growth of Scouting in the Region.  \nObjectives \n\nTo provide an understanding of the different approaches to Membership Growth in the context of Scouting\nTo equip leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to develop and manage Growth strategies and respective action plans;\nTo strengthen the capacities of leaders and increase their potential to become active ambassadors for growth of their organisations\, and;\nTo utilise relevant platforms for future support and cooperation\, using WOSM Services with specific tailored support and develop the framework for a “Member Organisations Growth Network”.\n\nProgramme\nThe programme of the event will be spread over four days providing space and the environment for discussions on an understanding of Growth in a Scouting context\, introducing the Organisational Development Approach of the European Scout Region\, developing a common European understanding of Growth based on Vision 2023\, developing Growth Strategies\, developing action plans\, as well as implementing actions\, tools and platforms to support Member Organisation Growth. \nIf participants would like to propose a session on the topic of growth that they would like to deliver during the event\, please fill in the Session template on the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/Cv29re46gMuWsdLv2 \nParticipants’ Profile \n\nMembers or prospective members of national or regional teams which support growth in their association.\n\nParticipants are expected to be able to communicate well in English and should be familiar with the use of electronic communication tools (e.g. email\, skype\, Facebook). \nNumber of Participants \n\nThe event is designed for about 60 – 80 participants.\nRegistration priority is given to have the largest number of different Member Organisations represented.\n\nLanguages\nThe event will be held in English. \nRegistration \n\nAll interested participants can register online by completing the application form.\nOnce someone has completed the form\, the approval of the application will be requested by the International Commissioner (IC) of the respective Member Organisation. A confirmation of the registration will be dispatched upon receipt of approval by the IC. No travel bookings should be made before receiving this confirmation.\n\nThe deadline for submitting applications is 20 April 2019! \nParticipation Fee \n\nAs this is an event supported by the Erasmus+ programme\, the participation fee for participants from partner Member Organisations is 120 EUR. DESCRIPTION:Calling all Rovers! Join us in Slovakia for Agora 2019 – an event run for Rovers by Rovers. \n  \nThe 2019 edition of Agora\, the European Scout Region’s peer-organised event for representatives of the senior age section of Member Organisations will take place at the Banská Štiavnica Scout Centre in Slovakia from 10 to 14 April 2019. Members of the senior age section will discuss age section related best practices and challenges encountered in their associations.\n \nThis is an event that is run “for Rovers\, by Rovers” that uses the Scout Method to reach the educational objectives for the Rover age section. This event looks at issues that are important and relevant to younger generations in today’s society.\n \nThroughout Agora 2019 the participants will: \n\nHave a safe space to share\, discuss\, and promote self-confidence;\nExperience a good balance between diverse training methodologies as well as indoor and outdoor activities;\nBe equipped with tools for effective communication with a diverse audience;\nReflect on possible innovations to keep the Rover Programme relevant in the future;\nGet to know the Sustainable Development Goals and how to adapt them in a practical way;\nBe given the chance to take part in a community service project.\n\nParticipants’ Profile\nAny Rover from any recognised NSA/NSO of the European Region is welcomed to be a participant at Agora. The participants should be aware of the Rover Programme of their own NSA/NSO and how it is implemented.
