SUMMARY:Overture Diversity Network meeting 2026
DESCRIPTION:This year\, the 54th Overture Diversity Network Meeting of the European Region of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the Europe Region of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) will be hosted by Federazione Italiana dello Scautismo.\n\nThe event will be held in Rome\, Italy\, from 12 to 14 June 2026.\n\n\nAim and objectives\n\nOverture Diversity Network meetings aim to strengthen understanding of diversity and inclusion within the European Scout Region and the Europe Region of WAGGGS\, focusing on key themes to support the delivery of an exciting\, educational programme for participants to learn and enjoy. This is achieved through sharing knowledge and experiences and through plenary sessions that cover essential diversity and inclusion principles across a range of topics detailed in the programme section below.\n\nThe Overture Diversity Network Meeting 2026 programme will be delivered as a combination of plenary sessions and workshops\, with some of the topics being:\n\nUnderstanding dyslexia and inclusive learning practices\nDesigning more inclusive and accessible events\nSupporting refugees and groups in situations of vulnerability\nNeurodiversity in Scouting and Guiding\nReaching children and young people from lower-income areas\nMental health and wellbeing in Scouting and Guiding\n\n\nThe plenary sessions will feature the expertise of staff and volunteers engaged in diversity and inclusion (from WAGGGS\, WOSM\, and other organisations)\, while the hosted workshop sessions will empower participants to craft their own learning experiences.  \n\nWe will host an international evening on Saturday. Participants can bring a sample of items from their country and organisation. Participants can bring posters\, flyers\, badges\, games\, food\, or drinks to show and share.\n\n\nDates and venue\n\nThe meeting will be held at the Roma Scout Centre.\nLargo dello Scautismo\, 1\n00162 Roma RM\, Italy Location: Google Maps\n\nThe meeting will start at 14:00 CEST on Friday\, 12 June 2026. Participants should aim to arrive before 12:00 CEST. The event will close at 12:00 CEST on Sunday\, 14 June 2026.   \n\n\nParticipants’ profile  \n\nThe Overture Diversity Network Meeting is open to representatives of National Scout Organizations (NSOs) and National Scout Associations (NSAs) of the European Scout Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)\, and representatives of Member Organisations (MOs) and Component Associations (CAs) of the Europe Region of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).\n\nParticipants should be familiar with Diversity and Inclusion\, and how it can be implemented within their organisation. They should also be eager to learn\, share experiences and be open to different ways of Scouting and Guiding. \n\nPrevious participants of the Overture Diversity Network Meetings are welcome to apply to participate again.\n\n\nLanguage\n\nTo facilitate all participant exchanges\, the working language of the Overture Diversity Network Meeting is English. Being able to communicate in English is essential to participation.\n\n\nParticipation fee \n\nThis event follows the WOSM NSO event fee category by country.\n\n\nCategory A: 150 EUR\n\n[Cat. A = Republic of Moldova]\nCategory B = 160 EUR\n[Cat. B = Armenia\, Azerbaijan\, Belarus\, Bosnia and Herzegovina\, Bulgaria\, Georgia\, Montenegro\, North Macedonia\, Romania\, Russia\, Serbia\, Türkiye\, Ukraine]\nCategory C: 170 EUR\n[Cat. C = Albania\, Croatia\, Czechia\, Estonia\, Hungary\, Latvia\, Lithuania\, Poland\, Slovakia]\nCategory D: 180 EUR\n[Cat. D = All other countries not specified above in the WOSM European Region]\n\n\nThis will cover accommodation\, meals\, coffee breaks\, the programme\, and venue facilities.\nPayment details will be sent via email upon registration. Payment is required in full by 23:59 CEST on Sunday\, 24 May 2026.\n\n\nRegistration\n\nRegistrations are now open and will close at 23:59 CEST on Sunday\, 10 May 2026. Registrations received after this deadline will not be considered. Please find here the registration link: https://forms.gle/9H1t2f6SEPYeisRp8\n\nWhat documents do you need for your registration?  \nYour registration requires:\n\nAn endorsement letter from your organisation’s International Commissioner \nA certificate for completion from the ‘SfH1: Safe from Harm Essential Learnings’ course.\n\n\nDue to the size of the event\, we can guarantee up to two participants per NSO\, NSA\, MO\, or CA before the registration deadline. Any remaining places will be allocated to ensure regional diversity.\n\nIf an NSO\, NSA\, MO\, or CA is endorsing more than two participants\, please let the planning team know in the endorsement letters or by email the names of the preferred participants for the two guaranteed places.\n\nConfirmed participants will receive a confirmation email and an information letter. Application results will be communicated by 12 May 2026. Please wait until we confirm your participation before booking your travel.\n\n\nVisa and travel arrangements\n\nPlease check your visa requirements before booking your travel. Italy is part of the Schengen Area. A valid ID or travel document is required. We can assist you with the process if you require a visa for Italy.\n\nWe will provide additional information to help with travel once you have booked. Travel arrangements should be made only after the Host Team confirms your participation. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance.   \n\n\nInsurance\n\nThe European Scout Region and the Europe Region WAGGGS do not provide insurance coverage for participants during the event or during travel to and from the venue.
